SUMMER PROGRAM FOR LAW STUDENTS

Each Fall Matias A. Monges & Associates, LLC recruits a selective group of up to three (3) law students to be part of a comprehensive legal Summer Program. We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working future lawyers who are committed to advocating for our wide array of clients. If this is you, we want to talk with you about joining our team. The Summer Program's goal is to introduce selected law students to our Firm and what life as an Associate will be like both professionally and personally as well as to help them improve as legal writers, thinkers and advocates.

We are committed to the professional development and advancement of our summer associates. Our summer associate program offers challenging assignments, training and mentoring programs, and networking opportunities to help our Summer Associates launch their career.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS AND FEEDBACK
​
As a Summer Associate, you will receive a variety of substantive and challenging work assignments including pro bono matters. In addition, you will receive spectator assignments, which may include attendance at trials, hearings, depositions, courtroom sessions, negotiations, arbitrations, client meetings, closings, and other client-related activities. While the assignments vary in terms of the legal questions presented, they each require legal research and analysis and persuasive legal writing. Often, spectator assignments will be integrated with a research and writing assignment. As a Summer Associate, you will as well work on pro bono matters helping firm attorneys solve problems for people who might not otherwise have access to a lawyer.

At the end of the program, assignment supervisors will meet with you in an exit interview to discuss all your evaluations and determine your interest in the firm and to provide you with an opportunity to share your thoughts about the program.
